Martha Jones

Popular academic advancing racial justice

Legal historian and Johns Hopkins Professor Martha S. Jones sought help in promoting Vanguard, a groundbreaking history of Black women’s pursuit of political power in the United States.

We designed and executed a media relations plan that earned Jones glowing coverage in some of the nation’s top newspapers, TV stations, and podcasts (see below for examples)—during the hotly contested 2020 election season.

We also booked and managed a launch tour for Jones, largely focused on Black-owned bookstores like Legacy, CityLit, and SoulFest, as well as a launch at Books Are Magic. The book was lauded by notable figures such as Hillary Clinton, Nikole Hannah-Jones, and Rosario Dawson.
