Cullin Murphy

Accomplished author showcasing work with website portfolio

When the longtime managing editor of The Atlantic was set to publish Cartoon County—a book about his father, the creator of Prince Valiant, and the golden age of American comics—he needed a new website to share his decades of work with the world at large.

Murphy’s original site contained useful information about many of his older books, but the 1990s design meant that site visitors struggled to navigate the site (and more importantly, buy copies of the books). We salvaged what was valuable and rebuilt the rest, tailoring the site to match Murphy’s distinguished and understated image.

In subsequent years, Murphy enlisted our help to update the site with new pages and fresh content related to his following books, Just Passing Through and The American Crisis.
